The first step we take is felling trees. For this process we use a feller buncher. The fellery buncher cuts down the trees that are chosen to be removed from the job site. They are then put into piles to be skidded.
After trees are cut to the ground 1 of 3 ways are used to skid them to the road. The first way is using a rubber tired skidder to carry them. The second way is shovel logging which uses a grappel head to pick them up and swing them near the road. When the ground is too steep for machinery to travel we use a yarder and a grapple carriage. The grapple carriage slides up and down a cable to and picks up the tree and carries it to the road.
To process the trees into logs a dangle head processor is used to de-limbing them, removing all limbs. We then cut the trees to the desired length and put them in decks based on the destination and species.
The last step we take is using a log loader to grab the desired logs out of decks to be placed on logging trucks. Those logging trucks then haul the logs to a mill in the area.
